Subject: Email is being blacklisted from Gmail - Yahoo - Comcast - Hotmail - etc
The following message was sent by our staff regarding the above subject:
Hi Shannon,
We do our best to stop SPAM and occasionally something like this will
happen. We do not act as "big brother", so we do not feel it necessary to
not allow customers to write their own scripts (even if improperly secured),
or to not be able to use catch-alls, which forward to their personal ISP mailboxes (Comcast, Earthlink, AOL, etc..).
Generally the server will be removed from the blacklist within a day or hours of being placed on it. The problem is those anti-spam organizations unfairly blacklist and because we're a shared host we get the brunt of it (no matter what we've tried to say in the past) You can also use your ISP's outgoing mail server to send mail until it happens. Otherwise we can provide you with a special private smtp server if all else fails.
We can provide you with an alternative SMTP mail server without the hassle of moving your entire account to a different server. Fortunately, we have made this process as painless as possible. To initiate this, we need you to confirm ownership by providing your username and last four (4) characters of your password. Once we receive this, we'll make the change (usually within 10 minutes of receiving your confirmation email), and then you'll need to modify the outgoing mail server info in your email program (we'll send an email with this info). That's really all there is to it. :)
Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions or issues. Thank you for contacting us.
Best regards,
