We have developed our knowledge base for both customers and employees to reduce support response time and provide the most relevant, up to date answers to common questions and problems. Our internal support ticket system enables our staff to selectively include any reply to a question or support issue to our real time Knowledge Base.

The Knowledge Base is indexed by subject and can be searched by keywords and phrases with results being displayed in the order each message was sent by our staff. The most recent messages appear at the top of the search results, while older messages are ranked lower. We routinely edit and delete outdated messages to ensure that only the most current information is provided.

Here are some recommended spam filter settings to get you started, you will of course want to adjust them based on your needs. Full documentation is provided within the Spam Filter itself.

For the following if you added your own rules in your local spam filter and wish to use these instead of the global filter, then check : Use Local And Default Rules Together in each section.

in From Address :
Check : Disallow Special Characters

Note : For all of the following settings : Special Characters are any Non-Roman characters (foreign language symbols included, so if you expect emails from say Asia in Chinese, do not check these options as they will be marked as spam.)

in Headers:

Check: Use Default Rules, Verify Sender's Host

in Message Body:
Check: Disallow Special Characters, No Empty Body, Reject Encoded Text, Use Default Rules

in Subject:

in Whitelist:
The settings are up to you, but 5/100 is the default. Lower numbers mean less spam but more false positives. Higher numbers mean more spam but less false positives.
A false positive is a "good" message scored as bad due to stricter filtering.

IMPORTANT: If any Mailbox Specific Spam Rule is set for the Subject, Body, Headers or Viruses, the corresponding Global Rule (which is set through this utility) will be ignored. Other rules not set in Mailbox Specific Rules will still apply. For example, if you have "viagra" in your Mailbox Specific Subject Rule, and "drugs" in your Global Subject Rule, messages with "viagra" in the subject will get rejected, while messages with "drugs" will get through. Mailbox Specific Rules are intended for users who prefer to control their own spam filters rather than having their mailbox filtered using the rules set for the entire domain. White List entries in Mailbox Specific Rules are combined with those in the Global Rules.

IMPORTANT:
The 'Use White List' option works as a check to include any entries specified -in- the White List with the specified filter (Headers, Subject, Message Body, etc).

A good example would be if you had an email form that always creates emails with the subject 'Sales Form' you could then add 'Sales Form' to the White List filter and check 'Use White List' in the Subject filter. This would then always allow emails with 'Sales Form' as the subject through the spam filter no matter their other content. They would be automatically accepted. This is great for that scenario, but using it with no clear target can potentially allow spam to flow freely into your email account.

We recommend -not- using this option without a specific reason and target.
Your White List is always active, but removing this option prevents the specified filter from also checking the White List to look for entries.
