Subject: Unable to send email or connect to SMTP mail server
The following message was sent by our staff regarding the above subject:
Rebecca,
There are three possible causes for this problem:
1) The "My server requires authentication" box must be checked in the Server Properties for your mailbox in Outlook Express.
2) Your SMTP server should be set to mail.yourdomain.com or the IP address we provided in your initial welcome message that was sent at the time your account was set up (you can also obtain this IP address by logging into your control panel).
3) Your ISP may be blocking you from using any outgoing mail server that is outside of their network. This is especially common with large ISP's. If all else fails, please contact your ISP to find out if they prohibit use of outside SMTP servers for sending mail. If this is the case, please obtain your ISP's SMTP server name and replace ours with it. The end result will be the same as using our SMTP server, as your recipients will not know you are using a different mail server to send messages and your return address will still be at your domain.
Please feel free to contact us again if you have any other questions or issues. Thank you for contacting us.
Best Regards,
