Subject: PHP 7
The following message was sent by our staff regarding the above subject:
Hi!
We're happy to announce that PHP 7, TLS 1.3+, Let's Encrypt SSL, and PCI-DSS SSL compliant versions of Apache, OpenSSL and other server software are now available.
Please see below for more information.
PHP 7.x *
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
* Current new signup PHP 7 server version is 7.4
-- New and potential clients: Just select PHP 7 (the default option) at signup: https://webmasters.com/signup
Your new hosting account will be ready to go in no time!
p.s. You can receive a discount on web hosting when you also register a domain of the same name.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
-- Current clients: If you're already setup with us and still using PHP 4 or 5, we can review your existing site to provide more information on how to migrate to the new platform. Any site -can- be migrated to the new servers, but may require some updates and or changes based on your software and needs. We will be able to keep your site on both servers during migration so there should be no downtime.
If you're using Wordpress, you can check your site compatibility with PHP 7 as is, with this plugin:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/php-compatibility-checker/
Even easier, if you want to start fresh, such as with a new Wordpress site, we can recreate your account on the new platform so you can get to work right away.
If you're not using PHP and only using HTML or have a very basic website, this migration can benefit you as our new platform is a free service upgrade. You'll get faster server performance and access to more modern software and security all around.
* PHP 5.3.16 is currently the highest available version of PHP on our "Legacy" servers.
We offer PHP 7 on our new lightning fast servers featuring our regularly updated 4Admin control panel platform.
PHP 7 is known to be twice as fast or more than previous versions.
Please contact support or use the Support Center if you're interested or have questions.
TLS 1.3+ / OpenSSL 1.1** / Let's Encrypt SSL
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Google/Microsoft/Mozilla and Apple are all pushing for TLS 1.2 as the minimum required encryption method and will block or flag sites that use older methods.
Customers using GlobalSign (and other) SSL certificates or that process payments through PayPal that wish to maintain PCI DSS compliance after March 2020 will need to migrate their accounts to our new PHP 7 servers in order to facilitate the use of OpenSSL 1.1 and TLS 1.3+.
(!) We also offer Let's Encrypt free SSL to clients on our new servers.
Bottom line, if you're interested in PHP 7, need PHP higher than PHP 5.3 (or aren't using PHP) and are ready to get started, please contact support and include your primary web hosting domain name.
PHP 4.4, 5.2, 5.3
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
If it hasn't already been done on your current setup (and or you're not ready for PHP 7) -- upgrade to the Apache 2 web server with PHP 5.3 now to take advantage of faster speed, more stability and better handling of PHP at -no- cost to you. It's as easy as clicking [Apache] in the Web Hosting control panel. Please see here for full information: https://webmasters.com/knowledge_base.php?issue=640&old_issue=apache+2&show=y
PHP 7 (highly recommended) and PHP 5 based accounts can both be purchased at signup.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any other questions or issues.
Best regards,
